Hi; I'm Jon --
TMU Board of Governors Candidate

Hi, I'm Jon Lowe

I’m a seasoned people and talent leader—and a proud alumni of Toronto Metropolitan University, where I earned my MBA in Strategic Human Resource Management in 2011. Over the course of my career, I’ve helped build and scale teams across global tech and fintech companies. Along the way, I’ve learned how powerful it is to intentionally connect people, purpose, and real opportunity.

I’m now looking to give back to the institution that gave me the foundation for my career—and to help ensure today’s students and recent graduates have even stronger pathways into meaningful work.

I’m running for the Board of Governors because I want to ensure that the focus of the university remains singularly focused on optimizing for student outcomes.

Optimize for Student Outcomes. Period.

Customer centricity has shaped my career—and TMU should apply the same lens: design everything around one goal—delivering real student value and launching graduates into the future with confidence.

Platform Fundamentals:

Real outcomes for students and alumni – keeping career readiness and post-graduation success at the center of Board decisions.

Industry partnerships that actually convert – investing in employer relationships that pipe students into  internships, co-ops and ultimately meaningful careers for TMU students.

An alumni network that opens doors – mobilizing alumni for mentorship, hiring, funding, and real access to opportunity; and creating enduring value and network for alumni.

Funded, scalable student-led programs – building, funding and fostering student led initiatives that create value for students; and connect them with industry.
